Dear East Campus Bulldogs.
It is an honor and privilege to serve as the East Campus principal. My passion for working with children has been life-long and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role. There is no doubt that every student can learn, and have success once given the opportunities and a support system needed to reach their goals. It is my responsibility to encourage each student and foster critical thinking and creativity while creating a learning environment where each is valued and nurtured.
I bring 25 years of educational experience including 17 years as a teacher and coach before beginning the school administrative journey. With 8 years of administrative experience including Harmony Public Schools, Dallas ISD, and most recently Gainesville ISD, I blend an enthusiastic "can do" attitude with a strong instructional background.
My degrees are a Bachelor's Degree from Paul Quinn College, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership at Northcentral University, and a Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership from Northcentral University. I earned a Principal Certification through Lamar University and I am currently in the Superintendent Certification program at Education Service Center Region 11. Together with my wife, Dr. Sonja Jackson, we have 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
As the principal, I promise to keep the mission upheld LOVE FIRST TEACH SECOND at the forefront of every decision we make as a school. We will strive to teach and provide all students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to become productive citizens, but most of all, every student will be valued and loved.
