February Events to Remember!

Mark your calendars for these Black History Month activities!

Good evening North Texas Collegiate Academy parents, this is Mr. Dix, Principal of East Campus.
I have our weekly announcements.
Our character trait of the the week is FRIENDLINESS!
Thank you to all who participated in learning activities and also for sharing on Facebook last week. Remember parents, your students can get extra work in Zearn Math, ST Math, Amplify Reading, and Edgenuity for our middle schoolers anytime they are not at school.
This Wednesday, groceries will be arriving at the district office for families in need. If your family is in need of groceries, you must call the front office by 2:00 pm on Tuesday so that we can have them ready for you on Wednesday afternoon. If you prefer, you also have the option of picking up groceries in person in Denton. Please call the front office at 972-292-3562 for more details.
February is Black History Month and we have an event scheduled for February 15th from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. It is our Black History Month Gallery Walk. This is a come and go event and those who attend will get to experience a combination of art and history down our main building halls telling the story of Black History in our country. You won't want to miss it.
This is a reminder for all After School Program parents and students; All students must follow all school rules from 3:30-6:00 pm during our after school program. Students who receive two discipline write ups will be dismissed from the program.
I want to remind all parents that daily attendance at school is critical. Please make sure your student is at school every day on time to avoid truancy.
Don't forget, we are continuing our attendance competition so please be sure to get your student to school on time every day so that they have a chance of winning some cool prizes, and more importantly so that they will not miss any learning.
We will not have school on Friday, February 17th, because it is a staff development day, and there will be no school on Monday, February 20th, in observance of President's Day.
And remember, NTxCA is more than a school!
Thank you and have a fantastic Bulldog week!

A poem from our Superintendent!

Parents,
Even though we are closed today and tomorrow, due to ongoing weather concerns, we still want our students to be being academically productive!
Please make sure your child is logged into his/her Zearn (math), ST Math, and Amplify (reading) online account. Middle school students can also log into Edgenuity. You should have the login information, but if not, reach out to your child's teacher to retrieve this information.
Stay warm, and enjoy this extra time with your family! Get logged in!!

February Menus are here!

NTxCA will be closed Wednesday due to ongoing weather concerns.

All NTxCA campuses will be closed Tuesday due to inclement weather.

All NTxCA campuses will dismiss at 10:15 Monday. Bus routes will run at that time. We must allow our students and staff to get home before road conditions deteriorate. Our staff members live in 31 different districts so although it may be clear at your house, it may not be safe for staff members to commute later today. We understand the frustration and inconvenience of unexpected early dismissals but ask for your understanding.
We'll make a firm decision about Tuesday by 6:00PM tonight.

If anything changes we will report it ASAP.
Progress reports will go home tomorrow, so please check your student's backpack.
Congratulations Bulldog basketball players for getting 2nd place in the district tournament! Also, congrats to North Campus for achieving the win and to South Campus for coming in third place. I am proud of every Bulldog basketball player for what they accomplished. Thank you to Coach Woods and Coach Leavell for leading the team!

We are closely monitoring the weather forecasts. As of 6:30PM Sunday night, we will have a regular school day Monday. However, we will NOT have after-school programs, activities or tutorials. This will allow all staff to get home well before dark when the roads may get icy.
Buses will run regular routes Monday afternoon. Students who usually attend after-school programs must be picked up at 3:30.
We will announce any further changes to the schedule as soon as we can determine what's best.
Thank you.
