Good evening North Texas Collegiate Academy parents, this is Mr. Dix, Principal of East Campus. I have our weekly announcements. Our character trait of the the week is CARING. Progress Reports will go home tomorrow, so be sure to check your student's backpack. Our Multicultural Fair will be from 6:00-7:30 pm this Thursday, December 8th. If you would like to be involved there is still time. Please contact your student's teacher to see how you can assist, or if you are interested in making a country/nation specific food to be sampled in our international food court, we would love to have your assistance! Please contact our front office to let us know. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at this event. I want to remind all parents that daily attendance at school is crucial. Please make sure your student is at school every day on time to avoid truancy. Daily compulsory attendance is mandatory by law. NTxCA follows all Denton County attendance guidelines. If your child has unexcused absences, you will receive an Attendance/Truancy Warning letter. This meeting is mandatory, and we will review interventions for improvement in attendance. We are starting up another attendance competition that will end on December 16th. Every student that is on time for school will get a special raffle ticket for each day they are on time. We will have a drawing at the end of the month for a chance to win some awesome gift cards! Also, the class that has the highest percentage of attendance and lowest tardies will win a special treat for the entire class! So let's show Bulldog pride and be on time to school each and every day! Winter class parties will take place on December 16th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. parents May attend parties and can also donate treats. Please see teacher newsletters for further details. As a reminder, December 16th is an early release day. School is over at 1:00 p.m. and students will need to be picked up on time. We will not have aftercare on this day and students will need to be picked up by 1:20 p.m. And remember, NTxCA is more than a school! Thank you and have a fantastic Bulldog week! #MoreThanASchool
