*Speaking of PATIENCE, thank you to each of you for being so very understanding and having a great deal of PATIENCE with me when you have received the Attendance (Truancy/Compulsory) notices! I am reminding you, this is NOT Ms. Jordan’s rules, these are attendance rules and laws that are given to us from the State of Texas.
Should your student not be in attendance for 2 or more days in one week, you will receive a WARNING letter that includes a scheduled time for you to visit with me. When your meeting has been scheduled, please make sure you attend the meeting to review options and/or interventions for improvement in attendance.
I’m proud to announce that our attendance has improved! This week we had a total of 50 students absent from school. However, We have had more than 125 students who are arriving to school past 8:00. Students are TARDY at 8:01 if they are NOT in class. So parents, please make sure your student is at school AND in class on time each day.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MS. MESERVE’S 1ST GRADE CLASS, THEIR CLASS HAD ONLY 1 STUDENT ABSENT THIS PAST WEEK! Congratulations to our 1st graders!
*If your student is ill, please continue providing the doctor’s notes or other “excusal” documentation
*Our Jaguar Campus Awards ceremony is Wednesday, November 9th. There will be a video link posted for your attendance and viewing. The ceremony will begin at 2:25.
*Wednesday is grocery Day! If your family is “IN NEED” of food or groceries, please visit the campus from 1 until 4 (time subject to change). All adults must be prepared to show identification (NO EXCEPTIONS)
*Friday, November 11th our campus will be honoring Veteran’s Day. Additional information will follow later this week
*SAVE THE DATE: Friday, November 18th is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 and there will not be after school care. This date was not originally on our school calendar, so please make a note of this change.

THIS FRIDAY, November 4th marks the END of our 2nd Six Weeks of School, which means CASUAL for a CAUSE!!! Allow your student to bring $3.00 on or before Friday and earn the opportunity to wear their school appropriate casual clothing! Remember there should be no holes in pants/shirts, no leggings, jeggins, yoga pants, tights, short skirts, short-shorts, or mid-drift shirts/blouses. Students who are out of dress code will change into other donated clothing we have on campus!

Due to predicted inclement weather, we are postponing Saturday's activities, but no worries, we are finalizing the details on an even better event on another day!

*Our 3rd thru 8th grade students will be completing their 6 weeks exams this week. For testing security purposes, our campus will not accept guests or visitors during testing times.
*The END of our 2nd Six Weeks of school is Friday, November 4th. Please make sure your student has visited with their teacher to complete assignments and / or make up tests. Grades will close at 3:30 on Friday. Report Cards will go home on Monday, November 7th.
*Parents, please remember that we would like 100% parent participation in our Effective Schools Framework Survey. The link has been sent via text message, email, and can also be found on our Facebook page. Please provide your anonymous input to improve student learning for our campus
*Please remember that our Fall Festival is Saturday, November 4th from 11 – 2. If you have not already done so, please consider volunteering for your class. We are still in need of candy donations so if you can, consider donating candy to your classroom.
*A reminder about attendance! Remember attendance at school is MANDATORY and it’s the LAW! Please make sure your student is at school on time daily! We have had SEVERAL students who arrive to school late and are considered TARDY. To prevent the 3-tardy turn into an absence rule, please make sure your student is on campus and in class at 8:00. Students are considered TARDY at 8:01.
*Parents of students who have missed 3 or more days of school this past week will be receiving Truancy/Compulsory Attendance letters on Monday. You will be required to have a meeting with me to discuss student attendance.
*Don’t forget our morning Pep Up! Our Pep Up was scheduled for last Friday, but unfortunately it rained and we had to postpone our dance! Remember to arrive at school by 7:30 for the GREAT DANCE with our JAGUAR STARS !

NTxCA will welcome a production team to campuses Wednesday through Friday this week. Although these are normal instructional days and the crew will not intentionally interrupt any activities, the team will be filming various classes and activities, interviewing certain staff and parents and shadowing certain students. (If your child will be shadowed, you have been informed.)
What's the purpose for the production team and filming? Stay tuned! We'll reveal the secret in January!

*Thank you to ALL of the Jaguar students and families who came out and supported our volleyball team! Our Jaguars proudly received 1st Place! Up next, basketball!
*Thank you to those parents who were able to attend the “Coffee & Conversation” zoom meeting with the Principal this past Friday. I look forward to our next meeting in February and I hope other Jaguar parents will join us!
*Reminding all parents that ATTENDANCE at school EVERY DAY is the LAW !! Parents received Attendance / Truancy Warning letters on Friday and a few will go home tomorrow.
*Dancing With the Jaguar Stars will continue this week! I hope everyone will arrive at school ON TIME each day this week! You just NEVER, EVER, know when we will have our Jaguar Cubs PEP UP with the Cupid Shuffle, the Stanky Leg, or even the NeNe! Let’s be on time EVERYDAY and join the Jaguar fun!
*If your family is in need of groceries, our “Grocery Day” is Wednesday from 1:00 until 4:00. For the safety of our campus and everyone on the campus, please be prepared to show your ID before you are allowed to enter the campus. No exceptions.
*Congratulations to ALL students who submitted a Fire Prevention poster. Our Administration Team of Judges indicated the decisions were VERY DIFFICULT! Our Jaguars put a lot of thought and effort into ALL posters. Here are the winners of a blue ribbon and 2 tickets to Nerf Battlefield;

*This week our campus will be celebrating “Red Ribbon Week.” Here are the weekly activities;
Monday – Peace Out to Drugs! The school will provide temporary tattoos and coloring activities that will be posted throughout the campus
Tuesday – Toe-tally Drug Free! Wear crazy socks day !
Wednesday – Hairs to being Drug Free! Wear crazy hair day. (NOTE: Colors and sprays must be removed by Thursday)
Thursday – Let’s Taco-bout Being Drug Free (Tacos and fajitas for lunch)
Friday – Team Up Against Drugs! Wear your favorite team t-shirt or jersey!
*Our Red Ribbon Door Decorating contest ends Tuesday at 3:00. All classroom doors must be completed on Tuesday by 3 in order to have the picture taken and posted to our district Facebook group for judging. Good Luck to EVERYONE !
*If you have not already provided candy, please consider donating a bag of candy to your classroom. Our Family Fall Fun Festival is Saturday, November 5th from 11 – 2 at North Lakes Park! We will have food, fun, and games, need candy and support of our parent volunteers. Please speak with your student’s teacher if you are able to volunteer in a 15-minute parent rotation for the classroom game/booth!

We're thrilled to announce Mrs. Maria Meserve as the October "Difference Maker!" This is Mrs. Meserve's 1st year with NTxCA but she's already a very loved member of our team. We're proud of her hard work, dedication, and sweet spirit. As both a first-grade teacher and the after-school coordinator for the North Campus, she has some very long days but is faithful in every way. She's definitely a "Difference Maker" who helps us fulfill our mission to be #MoreThanASchool!

*There’s a lot going on this week, beginning with our Parent / Teacher conferences. Your teacher will be reaching out to you to schedule your conferences for this week. Please make sure you have scheduled some time to visit with your student’s teacher regarding their Beginning of the Year academic, social, and behavioral successes! We have always had 100% parent participate so let’s get those meeting scheduled.
*This week is only a 4-day week! We will have school Monday thru Thursday with Friday being a Professional Development for our teachers. There is no school on Friday!!!
*In observance of Columbus Day, there will be no school on Monday, October 10th
*Volleyball practice for our 5th thru 8th grade students is Monday and Wednesday this week from 4:00 until 5:15. Reminding parents to please pick up your student by 5:15.
*Thank you to everyone for the support of our students and our campus Community Service Projects! The last day for donations and / or participation is Thursday, October 5th.
*Mark your calendars for our district volleyball tournament on October 21st at 5:00 pm
*A final reminder about student dress code. Please make sure your student is in dress code each day at school. This means no distracting hairstyles, hair color, and boys hair must not be below the eyebrows or over the ears and must not touch the shirt collar, and clean uniform shirts and/or the required baby blue or black t-shirt provided by the district. An expected shipment of uniform shirts should be delivered by Wednesday, October 12th. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the vendor will follow thru!!

It's GROCERY DAY! We've got lots of protein, baby products, fresh produce and canned goods FREE to current NTxCA families! The Pantry will be open for shoppers 1pm - 4pm today! No need to call or make an appointment if you come during that time.
