Dear Parents & Guardians of 6th, 7th, & 8th Graders:
North Texas Collegiate Academy regards parents/guardians of children as the first and primary teachers. This is especially the case in regard to spiritual, moral, and sex education. Sexual education is the parent/guardian’s right and responsibility; by law, our role as educators through the teaching of courses such as health and other science disciplines is to provide instruction specific to human sexuality.
In response to Senate Bill 283, NTxCA is providing written notice of our intent to provide human sexuality instruction to students. NTxCA will utilize the 180 Degrees Sexual Education Program for grades 6-8th. The 180 Degrees Program is an abstinence education program that presents the reality of the consequences of premarital sex and the benefits of healthy relationships. The presentation includes statistics, how to set physical boundaries, and how to develop healthy relationships. The program is interactive with questions and discussion interspersed throughout. Due to the sensitive nature of the program, parents have the opportunity to preview information prior to the student presentation.
Parents can find more information and preview any instructional materials regarding 180 Degrees Human Sexuality Curriculum by accessing https://180degreestx.com/parent-page-1.
Participation in the human sexuality curriculum is voluntary. Parents or legal guardians must “opt-in” their student for the lessons completing the digital form found here https://www.ntxca.org/forms/2026-human-sexuality-opt-in-form
STUDENT PRESENTATION DATES:
NTxCA South Campus: May 11, 2025 @ 9:00am
NTxCA North Campus: May 11, 2025 @ 2:00pm
